Hi, I'm Christine and this is my diabetes blog. As a dietitian and diabetes educator at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, I teach people how to manage their diabetes. I am passionate about diabetes education because, even though diabetes is a chronic disease, people with diabetes can control its treatment and management themselves. My goal is to help people learn to self-manage their diabetes in order to live a healthy and long life.
I have been a dietitian for 9 years. I grew up in Minnesota and my involvement there in cross-country skiing and running sparked my becoming interested in nutrition, and also my choosing to pursue nutrition as a career.
My biggest achievement in life is being a mom to 2 amazing children. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids, attending group fitness classes at the local gym, and trying out new recipes (even though my husband is the better cook!).
Through this blog, I will be providing you with practical ways to live with diabetes.
