Unfortunately, this is the kind of vague scare-mongering we've come to expect from yahoo. Give us some quantifiable data and actual links to studies. Not "some experts" or "some studies" or "the FDA has received complaints". C'mon Bill, don't insult our intelligence...

Dihydrogen Monoxide is in nearly everything we eat! And it kills thousands of people every year!

There is one chemical found in nearly every single food item sold in the US, if not the world. Excessive intake can lead to bloating, excessive sweating, excessive urination, nausea and vomiting, and in extreme cases *death*. In tests, every single lab animal that developed cancer had been exposed to it, and actually seemed to have developed an addiction to it. This chemical is dihydrogen monoxide; aka WATER. You can make anything sound terrifying by putting it in the right context. Should I also point out that the strain of lab rats that are invariably used in the "X causes cancer" claims are *genetically predisposed towards having cancer* with a rate between five and TWENTY times higher than "less controlled" strains? Or the fact that many times they give a creature that weighs less than five pounds a human-sized dosage of something and then marvel in awe as it negatively affects them?

The FDA approved Thalidomide too... so much for Govt oversight... it's always about profit vs risk. (profit wins)

To this day, I don't understand why they get away with "natural flavors". Especially when the word "natural" is utterly ambiguous to the extent that it's meaningless as an adjective.

Say it with cash. You don't have to collect a petition just don't buy junk you don't want to eat. The manufacturers will get with the program when their sales take a hit.

I think we should just not eat. Think of all the money you would save, and how slim your waistline will be. One the other hand, living near a stream, planting your own garden, and raising your own chickens and meat is the only way to be healthy. But most of us can't do that!

Yeah, and corn is used to make fuel for internal combustion engines. SO WHAT if these things have industrial uses? That has nothing to do with their effects on the human body when ingested. Also, on basically the entire article - [citation needed]. "Studies say," "received complaints," etc. is not "citing your source," it's "avoiding to cite sources because there's no consensus." There are a lot of complaints about smelly people as well, but I don't see "smelly people bans" anywhere, so stop with the scare tactics and report on something you've actually researched.
